The Clarks Hill-Leah Homeowners Association presented Leah Volunteer Fire Department Chief Charlie Hogan with a $500 check. The department is currently holding several fund-raisers in the Leah community to improve service quality and make property improvements to the department. We are remodeling station No. 1, Hogan said. New equipment is also being purchased to allow for a higher quality of fire protection. One of our goals is to have the station manned 24 hours a day to lower response time.
