A small standard flower show sponsored by the Augusta Council of Garden Clubs Inc., will be Nov. 1-3 at the Brandon Wilde Clubhouse.
According to Karen Oliver, the chair of the show, ribbons will be awarded in eight major categories.
"The design division will be open to members of the National Garden Clubs Inc., and the horticulture division is open to any amateur grower," she said.
The flower show schedule and entry tags are available at the Green Thumb West and Green Thumb Central nurseries. There is no fee to enter the show.
Participants will be required to set up their displays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday or from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. The show will open to the public at 3 p.m. Friday and run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There is no admission fee.
"We hold the standard flower show in order to carry out the mission of the National Garden Clubs Inc., which is community service and education," Oliver said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for the public to become aware of the different types of horticulture for this particular time of year."
