Church choir concert
Oakey Grove Baptist Church is holding a mass choir concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with special guest the Rev. K.B. Martin, of the Antioch Baptist Church, Augusta.

The Greenbrier High School Athletic Booster Club will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the school auditorium.
Berthmarks Tent meeting
The Berthmarks Tent of Harlem will be holding its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Laurel and Hardy Museum of Harlem, 250 N. Louisville St., Harlem.
The Berthmarks Tent is the local Laurel and Hardy fan club.

Mayoral, council candidates to speak
The Harlem Women's Club is holding Meet the Candidates Night at 7 p.m. Thursday at the women's club building at 170 Milledgeville Road.
Harlem Mayoral candidates John Bentley and Scott Dean, and city council candidates C.D. Morris, Rudolph Dixon and John Thigpen will have five minutes each to speak. The club will accept written questions from the audience for a question-and-answer period following the presentations.
The new electronic voting machines will also be demonstrated.
Elks charity ball
The Augusta Elks Lodge 205 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will hold a charity ball Saturday at their facility on Fury's Ferry Road. The public is invited.
The event will include door prizes, a silent auction, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Everette and the Escorts will provide the entertainment. Attire is dressy for women and coat and tie or tuxedo for gentlemen.
All proceeds go to charitable organizations such as the local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, Elks Aidmore Children's Center and the lodge youth activity programs.

Sierra Club slide show
The Sierra Club will hold a slide show about the Pacific Northwest at it's monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Unitarian Church at 3501 Walton Way Extension.
The presentation will be given by Jonathan Evans, the manager of AWOL.
