When she grows up, Euchee Creek Elementary School third-grader Carlye Pankey is planning to be an art teacher.
But on career day at the school Wednesday, she said she was most impressed with a electricity demonstration by David Reville of Georgia Power Co.
"I think he's really neat," she said.
Reville shared with the students what it takes to be an employee for Georgia Power Co. - an engineering degree in some cases, but a good attitude and work ethic is most important, he said.
"You are always going to have a teacher, a foreman or a supervisor whose always going to be your boss," he said. "You have to get up every morning and be at work by 7:30 a.m - not 7:40 a.m. And you have to have a good attitude. Georgia Power has 12,000 employees, so we don't have time for someone with a bad attitude."
Doctors, lawyers, policemen, media personalities and even Tae kwon do experts were on hand to talk to the children about their careers.
"This is challenging for me," Georgia State Patrol Trooper Chris Wright told the students . "I've spoken to adults before, but kids can throw you a curve ball."
He talked about seat belts and their importance in saving lives, and told thechildren about his job. But they had things to tell his, too.

"A little girl told me her daddy drinks beer, but he doesn't drive when he drinks," Wright said.
Terry Newton, of Taekwondo Plus, in Martinez encouraged Sonnie Pulaski's first grade class to pick a career they enjoy.
"I get to get up every morning and have fun all day long and then go home and play with my kids. If you do something you love, then it's not work," he said.
