Submissions for the New Horizons Art Festival are being accepted through Monday.
Artists may submit their work in six categories in the juried art show including oils and acrylics, watercolor, graphics and drawings, ceramics, photography and mixed media. Work must have been completed in the past three years.
Applicants must complete an entry form and mail or deliver it with a non-refundable $25 entry fee by Monday to the Savannah Rapids Pavilion, attention of Sandy Boner.
Of the submitted entry slides, a juror will chose the top ones, usually a piece from each artist, said Leah Owens, the county's landscape architect who is helping plan the event. Last year's show displayed 33 accepted works. She said each artist usually submits about three pieces of work.
"Our goal is to get about 40 accepted pieces to enter," Owens said. "We probably get about 100 entries to begin with."
The show will be Oct. 18-19 at the pavilion with a juried art show and wine and cheese reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, which will include announcement of the winners, live entertainment and a silent auction.
Entry forms for the children's art contest are due by Oct. 10 and submissions are due no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 18.
