Support group to meet
The Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain Support Group will present a family conference titled Families Helping Families Living with Chronic Pain and Fibromyaligia from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 at the University Hospital Levi Hill III Auditorium, 1350 Walton Way, Augusta.
Dr. Cynthia Butler, a clinical psychologist, Dr. Bob Gommell, of the Behavioral Management at Walton Rehabilitation and C. Luis McTier, a nurse practitioner at Augusta Pain Management, will be guest speakers.

County bake sale
The Columbia County government is holding its United Way Campaign Yard and Bake Sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Water Works department, 4325 Evans to Locks Road, Evans.
All proceeds from the sale will support the United Way of the CSRA.

Blessing of the Animals
Church of the Holy Comforter will sponsor a Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine, at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion on Evans to Locks Road. Family reunion planned in Thomson
Descendants of Andrew Sturgis and Nancy Shields are invited to attend the 15th annual Sturgis/Shields Family Association reunion at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Winfield Community Center at 150 Cobbham Road, Thomson.
Any family, friend or those interested in Columbia County history are invited to attend. Bring a covered dish. Lynell Widener, a painter of Columbia County landmarks, will present a slide show.
