Back-to-school moments

Lauren and Samantha Cole, were very excited about their first day of school at Blue Ridge Elementary. Samantha, 5, was beginning kindergarten and older sister Lauren, 8, was anxious to show her around. Lauren entered the third grade this year. Samantha enjoyed riding the bus home and both children talked about their first day for more than an hour when they got home.

Kaitlyn Mills and Melissa Ann Kinsey - both fifth graders at Riverside Elementary School - are members of the school and safety patrol.

Haley Smith, Justin Youngblood and Aaron Youngblood went to Brookwood Elementary together on the first day of school. Haley and Justin - both fifth graders - have been friends since they were 18 months old. Aaron is in the first grade.
