"SuCCess Columbia County Style" - an after-work gathering aimed at building relationships between businesses - is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at The Centre at Fury's Ferry. The event is sponsored by the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and several local businesses.

Remembrance service
Marshall Baptist Church will hold a service to remember those who died in the Sept. 11 attacks, and for those who live on.
The remembrance service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, 436 Marshall Church Road, Thomson. For more information, call the church at (706) 595-6235.
SCREAM tour concert
New Hope Worship Center and Alpha Student Ministries will present the SCREAM tour at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the worship center at 715 Old Belair Road, Augusta. The all-age concert will present a positive Christian alternative in rock and rap music featuring bands Grits, KJ-52, Justifide, Big Fat Jam and Jonah 33.

Law enforcement training
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is holding a Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy beginning Thursday. The free 9-week course takes place each Thursday evening and is open to county residents ages 18 and older. To sign up or for more information, call Capt. Jim March at (706) 541-4027.
Clean-up Challenge Day
Columbia County Clean and Beautiful committee, along with Metro Augusta Clean and Beautiful, is sponsoring Cleanup Celebration Day on Oct. 12.
The cleanup day is where the committees from both counties ask the public to help keep the area clean by not littering, picking up litter they may see and identifyingroads or areas that need attention. The committee is aware of several roads that have been identified as needing extra cleanup attention and are looking to identify more.
