Like rallying cry after Pearl Harbor, 'Remember 9/11' calls nation to war
America fought and won a major war to save democracy, for the living, when a terrorist, tyrant nation launched a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and the Philippines and killed 3,000 Americans. The cry, Remem-ber Pearl Harbor, united the home front and fueled the fire in the troops bellies to get us that decisive victory for the living.

Dean's list
Augusta State University has named the following students in the area to the summer 2002 dean's list. To qualify for the dean's list, students must earn nine or more hours of undergraduate coursework and achieve a grade-point average of 3.66 or higher for the semester.
Current events
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is holding a Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy beginning Sept. 12. The free nine-week course is held each Thursday evening and is open to county residents 18 or older. To sign up or for more information, call Capt. Jim March at (706) 541-4027.
