During their visit to three countries in the Far East, Rachel and Michael Cordier rode elephants in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They spent 19 days on the vacation, visiting Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia. They visited an underwater aquarium, a Red Cross snake farm and ancient ruins.

Meredith, Megan, Brennan and Erin Day of Evans enjoy the scenery in Santa Barbara, Calif. Their family spent two weeks along the central coast of California, where they also got to visit their great grandmother.

The Koenig family traveled to Washington and visiting friends in Baltimore. Trey, 7, (pictured) had recently studied presidents Washington and Lincoln in first grade and was excited to see some of the things he had read about, including the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Ford's Theatre.

Preston Pye (left to right), Kristin Arrington, Nick Arrington and Chris Tyron spend their last vacation of the summer at Hilton Head Island. They mainly hung out at the beach and pool, where they sandboarded, built sand castles and had a big shaving cream fight.
