Beginning today, readers have another way of connecting with The Columbia County News-Times with the launch of the newspaper's Web site.
"This is a day we've long awaited," said Barry Paschal, publisher of The News-Times. "The new-media team has done a fantastic job of translating our community newspaper into a user-friendly presence on the Internet, and we hope to not only enhance our coverage for local readers, but to make the newspaper's content more widely available to those outside Columbia County."
The site, www.newstimesonline.com, provides access to all the news, commentary and features that appear in the Wednesday and Sunday editions of The News-Times. The site also includes access to classified and retail advertisers, along with information to assist readers in submitting items to The News-Times.
"This site provides 24/7 access to all the news and information you find in the print edition of The Columbia County News-Times," said Conan Gallaty, director of new media for The Augusta Chronicle, sister publication of The News-Times. "Readers will be able to find local advertisers and easily reach the staff of The News-Times. Soon, they will also be able to search past editions.
"We're pleased to expand the reach of The News-Times," Gallaty added.
