Editor:
Isn't it encouraging to know that we Columbia Countians, our county and even our little newspaper have identities distinctly different than that of our next door neighbor? By all means, lets fight to keep it that way.
Those who voted Republican in Columbia County clearly expressed (with a 90 percent yes vote) their desire to have a say in the real Georgia flag vs. the Barnes banner. With an 80 percent yes vote, we also insisted that a monument to Columbia Countys Confederate veterans be placed on the lawn of the Columbia County Justice Center. These issues received some of the highest margins of any of the ballot questions.
This goes to prove that all we Americans need is the opportunity to disprove what the politically correct, liberal media would have us believe about ourselves. Be gone with their lies.
In closing, how dare Gov. Roy Barnes present us with his new Rob-U-Matic Voting Machine. With the paper-trail (card copy) eliminated, theres no limit to the voting fraud which could be perpetrated upon the electorate.
What a computerized sham!
