Proliferation of signs weren't Founders' idea

The Southeastern Legal Foundations threat to take Columbia County to court over its yard sign ordinance proves that frivolous lawsuits are filed by folks other than those who spill hot coffee on themselves and then sue McDonalds.

Its often said the Constitution is a living document. The courts first determine original intent of the Constitutions authors and then apply that intent to modern times.

If the Founding Fathers could come back for one day to take a ride around Columbia County and see all the signs littering our roadways (er, I mean promoting our candidates), Im not sure what theyd say. Probably something like, Look, you can do this if you like, but dont blame us. This wasnt what we originally intended.
