Editor:

The people of Columbia County have the privilege to elect our own chairman of the County Commission in the election Aug. 20. Ron Cross, who has lived in Columbia County for some 30 years, is a candidate for that position.

I have known Cross for 28 years and have found him to be a man who puts God first in his life, followed by family. I have worked with Cross throughout these years at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He has served in numerous chairmanships, including the administration board and finance and as a lay speaker.

Cross is a successful businessman due to being blessed with the ability to listen and to understand his fellow man.

Cross has never been in politics, but he wants to serve the people of Columbia County. I believe we need a leader who has worked with a magnitude of people from various walks of life, and knows what it is to truly run a business from the ground up.

Cross has on the job training to effectively represent us and work the with commissioners, as well as the various county departments to best serve the citizens of Columbia County. His wide range of experience is something you cant buy, but you can vote for him to be our leader as chairman.

I ask for your vote for Ron Cross Tuesday. He will stand strong for Columbia County.
