The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.
Home not for sale
A Woodstock, Ga., man returned to his home, which has been unoccupied for a year, to find it was for sale.
Anil Solanki, 48, told deputies he returned to his residence on the 4500 block of Plantation Road in Martinez on Aug. 7 to "check on its well being." Solanki told officers the locks to the house has been changed and there was a Wolverine Real Estate Services sign on the front lawn.
The reports states Solanki contacted the real estate company, but was not given any information. He then contacted his mortgage company was told he was up to date on all bills related to the home.
The officer gave Solanki itemized inventory sheets to fill out if he gained access to the home and found anything missing.
Chinese Restaurant robbed
An Evans Chinese restaurant was robbed of $370 after thieves broke through the front metal door of the business.
On Ching Kwok, owner of China Restaurant, told officers someone entered the business through the door, took the money, and did minor damage to the restaurant.
The report states the deputy who responded found the area behind the front counter "was ransacked." The deputy also found a small lock box that had been pried open near the back door. An investigator was called to the scene.
Rude Awakening
Two men were awoken by a noise outside the home they were staying in on Aug. 6.
When Steven Sizemore got out of bed and walked outside with his friend , the men were attacked by four or five black men, according the report.
The reports states the black men then began throwing objects at Sizemore's uncle's mobile home. Sizemore told officers he then looked along the road and noticed Amiel Joseph Bosanko, 21, Appling, sitting in his truck and laughing.
Sizemore said the black men ran from the residence, jumped in Bosanko's truck and left the area. The responding deputy wrote in his report that he called Bosanko and was told Bosanko was not at the house and didn't know "four or five black males."
