Evans football squad has 13 "E" men return
Enthusiasm ran high Monday night as varsity football candidates for this year's squad met with Head Coach Bobby Way for the first time.
Thirteen returning lettermen kidded and engaged in the usual horseplay before the coach got down to the business at hand-that of taking names, passing out physical exam and eligibility forms.
New shoes were passed out to the players with the instructions, "Break 'em in good before practice begins two weeks from today. I don't want any blistered feet this fall!"
The coach expressed optimism for this year's team. He told the players. He told the players to 'get in shape' and used the 440-yard dash as a parallel. He said, "If each of you can run a 440 'wide open' when you report for practice, I'll be satisfied."
