Lakeside football

The Lakeside High School football team begins practice Monday at 8 a.m. Players should meet at the school commons area. Physicals are required in order to participate. For more information call 863-0027.

Harlem football

The Harlem High School football team begins practice Monday at 6 p.m. Players are asked to report to the Harlem football field house at 5:30 p.m. An updated physical is required in order to participate. For more information call 556-5980.

Evans football

The Evans High School football team begins practice on Monday. Players are asked to report to the school at 9 a.m. A physical and insurance form are required for participation. Insurance forms can be picked up at the Evans High School weight room from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week.

Evans softball

The Evans High School softball team will conduct tryouts at 9 a.m. July 29 at the Evans softball complex. Players need to have a physical and an insurance form to try out. Insurance forms may be picked up at the school's main office prior to tryouts. Evans athletes can get free physicals at 6 p.m. today on the third floor of the Sports Medicine Associates office, which is at 3624 Dewey Gray Circle, near Doctors Hospital.

Swimming tryouts

The Aiken-Augusta Swim League, a year-round, nonprofit swim team, will hold tryouts for the 2002-03 season on July 30 at Augusta State University. Swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of freestyle or backstroke to try out.
