Summer camp

Grovetown's free summer camp for children ages 6-16 will be July 8-12 at Goodale Park on Wrightsboro Road. The camp is open to all children, with supervised activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lunch each day and an afternoon "sprinkle shower" provided by the Grovetown Department of Public Safety. Registration forms are available at Grovetown City Hall. For more information, call 863-4576.

Riverside Middle School Council to meet

The Riverside Middle School Council will meet on July 9 at 11 a.m. in the conference room of the school.

Harlem Museum to open

The Museum of Harlem will hold its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies July 15 at 10 a.m. The museum will feature a Laurel and Hardy display of memorabilia. Hayes to exhibit

Daniel Hayes will exhibit his collection of 20 drawings and other pieces of art during the month of July at Borders Books, Music and Cafe at 257 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway. The paintings are also on sale. For more information, contact Daniel Hayes at (706) 228-3470 or at dhayes36@comcast.net.

Driveway markers

The Winfield Fire Department is taking orders for driveway markers. The markers should be place at your driveway so emergency services can locate a home in the case of an emergency. The markers are 4-inch white, reflective numbers on a green reflective 4-inch-by-12-inch reflective background. For more information, call Gordon Sparks at 541-1603.

Swamp Saturday

Phinizy Swamp Nature Park will have Swamp Saturday on July 6 at 9:30 a.m. Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy-trained volunteers lead groups through Phinizy Swamp Nature Park on a 2 1/2 mile, 1 1/2 hour walk. Guests should bring comfortable walking shoes to tour the swamp, wetlands, trails and scenic outlooks. Come prepared with weather-appropriate outerwear, a water bottle, insect repellent and sunscreen. Cameras and binoculars are optional but welcome. Free of charge, reservations needed for groups of 10 or more.
