Harlem sewer lines to be tested

Beginning Tuesday, the city of Harlem will begin smoke testing the sewer lines to identify leaks and cross connections. For more information, contact Harlem City Hall at 556-3448. All testing should be complete by Wednesday.

Patriotic service

The Church of the Holy Comforter will be having a patriotic service at Savannah Rapids Pavilion at 5 p.m. June 30The event will be followed by a concert featuring a 50-piece concert band playing Fourth of July favorites. There will also be a remembrance of all Sept. 11th victims and a thanksgiving for recovery workers. A barbecue supper will be available. The concert is free. Tickets for the supper are $5.50 for adults and $4 for children. For more information, call the church at 210-1133.

Summer camp

Grovetown's free summer camp for children ages 6-16 will be July 8-12 at Goodale Park on Wrightsboro Road. The camp is open to all children, with supervised activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lunch each day and an afternoon "sprinkle shower" provided by the Grovetown Department of Public Safety. Youth and Graduates Day

The Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church in Evans will celebrate Youth and Graduates Day on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. The guest speaker will be 15-year-old minister Johnny Brown from Georgetown, S.C. This young minister began singing the praises of Jesus Christ at age 4 and has traveled throughout the U.S. and Bermuda, preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Riverside Middle School Council to meet

The Riverside Middle School Council will meet on July 9 at 11 a.m. in the conference room of the school.

Harlem Museum to open

The Museum of Harlem will hold its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies July 15 at 10 a.m. The museum will feature a Laurel and Hardy display of memorabilia. Hardy Festival crafters

Hayes to exhibit
