Events set for Fourth

Patriots Park Fourth

The Fourth of July Celebration at Patriots Park begins at 3 p.m. Thursday. There'll be arts and crafts, hot air balloon rides, a petting zoo, clowns, a silent auction a performance by the band Shiloh and fireworks. For information, call 868-3458. There is no charge for the event.

Grovetown's Fourth

Grovetown's Annual Barbecue begins at noon at Goodale Park. Meals are free if you eat there, $4.50 if you take them with you. Entertainment, including a bluegrass band, a quartet and Polynesian dancers, will be provided also.

Fort Gordon Independence Day

The Fort Gordon Independence Day Celebration will have a laser show, fireworks, military displays, children's activities and performances by several local artists, including Black Eyed Susan, Susan Lynn, Tony Williams and the Blues Express and the Signal Corps Band. The free event will be at Freedom Park from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Riverfront Fourth

The Riverfront Fourth Celebration will feature bands, cloggers, arts and craft a cannon firing and fireworks. The free event runs from noon until 9:30 p.m. at Riverwalk.

Star Spangled Concert

The Independence Day Chorus and Orchestra performs at St. Pauls Episcopal Church at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $5 to $50. For information, call 724-2485, ext. 215.

Tradewinds on the Fourth

Tradewinds Marina's fireworks show on the lake will kick off Thursday evening with concessions, an air jump, a petting zoo and a live remote from a local radio station. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Parking in the marina will be $5 and there will also be parking available at Lake Springs recreation area. The fireworks can also be seen from the water.
