Basketball camp participants learn fundamentals of game

The Lakeside High School Panther Basketball Camp of Champions was held the school from May 27 until May 31.

Coach Richie Carnes taught Grades 2-5 and 6-9 ball handling skills, free throws, hot shots, one-on-one, shooting and defense drills.

In the 2-5 grades, the following trophies were awarded: Hot Shot: Melissa Kinsey and Jonathan Bradley, Free throws-Amanda Waters and Wesley Turner, One-on-One: Hunter Hubbard and Christian Nobles, Ball Handling: Sarah Gilbert and Kaila Hunt. Camper of the Week went to Sean Gaddy. Most Improved Player went to Debani Gordon.

In the 6-9 grades, the following trophies were awarded: Hot Shot: Laura Wexler and Seth Williams, Free throws: Drew Gaddy and Robbie Miller, One-on-One: Dave Stanton and Blake Blandenburg, Ball Handling: Brian Ward and Bena Tshishiku. Camper of the Week went to Chris Kemp. Most Improved Player went to Jennifer Kinsey.
