Augusta Preparatory Day School is pleased to announce that Tom Holodak will be the next athletic director at APDS. Holodak has been at the Greenhill School in Dallas since 1981, where he actually took over the cross country team from former Prep headmaster Steve Blanchard.
In addition to being a coach in cross country, track and basketball, Holodak has served as a physical education teacher at Greenhill. He has been the school's assistant athletic director for the past nine years.
Holodak graduated cum laude from Manhattan College, and received his M.A. from Michigan State University. He is a certified Level 1 & 2 Track and Field Coach with USA Track and Field, which is the national governing body for track & field, long-distance running and race walking.
A division head who has worked with Holodak for twenty years described him as follows: "In my opinion, Tom's greatest strengths are his ability to motivate students to achieve, careful lesson and activity planning, organizational skills and follow through, intelligence, leadership skills, and, high energy level...The best example I can give of Tom's talent and strength of character is that her literally ran across the United States to raise money for charity - an extraordinary feat which few men or women have accomplished."
