Editor:
I completely agree with the April 24 letter from M. Murro, Schools need later start times; students need less homework.
Students are assigned projects and, although some of the work is done in class, they inevitably end up bringing it home. I have heard of several students missing sports and other activities, including church, to finish their assignments.
It is not a matter of not using their time wisely; there simply is not enough time to get it all done.
Regarding school start times: I believe that it is very important for our students to get adequate rest. This is just not possible when they have to be at school by 7:35 a.m. If they ride the bus, they must be ready well before 7 a.m.
It is very hard for working parents to even get dinner on the table before it is time for bed. Thank goodness summer break is almost here and everyone can get some rest. We want our children to be healthy and happy.
