Blessed Comedy

Singer, comedian and speaker Scott Davis will be at the Bethesda Baptist Church today for the morning service. He will speak to the youth group during Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., and will sing and speak during the morning worship service at 11:00 a.m.

Chaplain to speak at church meeting

Kevin Hynes, the chaplain of the University of Georgia football team, will speak during the Kilpatrick Baptist Association Spring Instructional Meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Damascus Baptist Church, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling.

Hynes is a former Marine, deputy sheriff and long-haul truck driver.

Music will be provided by By Design, of Dacula, Ga.

Lakeside PTSO will meet

The Lakeside High School PTSO will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday in the school's media center.

Guest speakers will include school board member Wayne Bridges, Columbia County Schools Superintendent Tommy Price and Associate Superintendent Charles Nagle.

Election of officers for the upcoming school year will be held.

Planning for the future

Columbia County Advocates for Special Education will play hosts to MetLife's presentation, How to Plan for the Financial Future of Your Child with Special Needs on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the Warren C. Theater to present "Faith County"

Stage III Ltd., Columbia County's community theater, will present "Faith County," a country comedy, Thursday through Sunday at the Jewish Community Center off Furys Ferry Road.

The play will be presented Thursday through Saturday as a dinner theater. Sunday's presentation will be a 3 p.m. matinee.

Church youth to hold car wash

The youth of Bible Cathedral will hold a car wash, yard sale and bake sale at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church located at 1116 Furys Ferry Road in Evans.

The funds will benefit the summer retreat for the youths.

Spring carnival

Bel Air Elementary School's Spring Carnival "A Day in the USA" will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A silent auction will be from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the media center. Vendors may rent booths for $15 by calling Dana Samples at 868-3698, ext. 208.
