No insult in Spanish effort, which gets praise

Editor:

I disagree with the criticism by Dr. Paula Rodriguez regarding the Spanish translations on articles in The Columbia County News-Times (letter, March 17, Spanish effort "insult to Hispanic community).

Instead of criticizing the efforts of many people that are trying to do something worthwhile for the Spanish-speaking people, or for those that are trying to learn the language, she should be volunteering her services to help out.

I have read the articles and have not felt insulted, as she claims. I applaud the efforts of the good people that are reaching out to the community and encouraging young students to learn Spanish as a second language. It will be beneficial to them in their adult lives.
