Service Project

A "Thinking of You in Georgia-Carolina" banner was signed by more than 900 students as part of an FCCLA community service project at Evans High School. Following the September 11 incident, FCCLA members implemented a project to collect money and gifts for the children in the Twin Towers area. This project resulted in the donation of $800 to the Children in Crisis in New York City. Ms. Angela Hillestrand from Saturn of Augusta organized the project and actually delivered the gifts and money to the Children in Crisis Center in New York from the Evans chapter as well as a number of Saturn dealerships throughout the South.

In Feb., the FCCLA members collected and shipped more than 3,500 Valentine cards to be distributed by the Children in Crisis organization.

Students are now collecting plastic Easter eggs, filling them, and shipping them to low income areas to be distributed to pre-school and kindergarten classes.
