The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Courthouse vandalized
Someone entered the Columbia County Courthouse March 5 and threw black, green and red powder on the floor and then cracked on an egg and poured the contents onto the powder, according to a Columbia County Sheriff's Office report.
Deputy Leon Powell reported the vandalism about 8:30 a.m. and said he believes it was part of a voodoo ritual.
Man attempts car-jacking
Matthew Raynack reported that someone tried to steal his car while he was driving it on the morning of March 5.
Raynack, of the 700 block of Locks Hill Court, Martinez, said he was traveling west on Stevens Creek Road and attempted to turn south onto Evans to Locks Road when a man standing in the intersection opened the driver's side door of the 1995 Dodge Intrepid.
The man tried to pull Raynack from the vehicle, but the man was unsuccessful and fled.
Wallet stolen at grocery
A customer at the BiLo in Martinez told police she was shopping March 6 when someone stole her wallet from the shopping cart.
Nettie Irene Quarles, of the 4500 block of Meadow Lane, Evans, said she briefly turned away from the shopping cart, which contained her purse with her wallet.
Another shopper told her that while she had turned away, a man reached into her purse and took her wallet.
The man was seen driving away from the store, in the 4400 block of Crown Point Drive, Martinez, in a tan, late-model Cadillac.
