Winter Wars 2002

The Augusta Martial Arts Academy will host the Winter Wars 2002 Saturday, March 16 at the Augusta State University Athletic Complex. The event will feature kickboxing and mixed martial arts matches starring some of the Southeast's most prominent sports figures. Also, three-time Ultimate Fighting champion Dan "The Beast" Severn will conduct his Ultimate Grappling Seminar from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at ASU. Eagle Club to meet

Mike Sewak, Georgia Southern University's new head football coach, will be the featured speaker at the Greater Augusta Eagle Club's annual spring event on Friday, March 22. The event will be held at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion, with social time at 6:30 p.m. and the program/dinner scheduled for 7 p.m.

In addition, representatives from the Center for Wildlife Education, Botanical Garden, University Store, and GSA Museum will be showcasing their birds of prey, reptile friends, garden information, campus merchandise, and interesting artifacts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $15 per person and include a delicious BBQ dinner. There will also be a cash bar available at the event.
