Golf tournaments

The Augusta District Dietetic Association is having its ninth annual golf tournament at Forest Hills Golf Club on Saturday, March 23. This is a fund raiser for the association, and all interested players are invited to participate. The Lauderdale format will feature four-man teams, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Registration fee is $55 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, snacks and beverages, a picnic lunch after play is completed and a chance to win prizes. A golf tournament to benefit Easter Seals will be held March 26 at Goshen Plantation Golf Club. The format is four-man Lauderdale with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. There will be hole-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive contests. Sign up before March 14 and receive a free commemorative golf club. Call (706) 650-5700 to reserve a spot.

Road Race

The Columbia County Recreation Department and University Hospital will hold the ninth annual Spring Jingle Road Race on March 16 at Blanchard Park. Packet pickup is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The one-mile race starts at 9 a.m., and the two-mile race is at 10:30 a.m. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 200 entries. Divisions include: one-mile: 5-6 years, 7-8 years and 9-10 years; two-mile: 5-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years and 13-14 years. Awards include gift certificates for the top male and female in each division; ribbons will be given to second- and third-place winners in each category. The entry fee is $10, and runners can register at Patriots Park gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 11. Late registration (March 12-14) is $5 extra.
