Dean's List

Holly Blount, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Linden Blount of Martinez, was named to the dean's list at Valdosta State University for the fall 2001 semester. Blount is a graduate of Lakeside High School.

Dean's List

Linden Van Blount II, son of Dr. and Mrs. Linden Blount of Martinez, was named to the dean's list at the University of Georgia for the fall 2001 semester. Blount is a 2001 graduate of Lakeside High School.

Southern Illinois

The following students have been named to the dean's list at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for the fall 2001 semester: David Bergmann and David Blair, both of Evans; Darryl Bennett, Dervon Burnett, Bryant Mack III and Wilbert Smith Jr., all of Fort Gordon; Steven Bond, Lucin Crawford, Randall Link, Danielle Mackie and Kurt Posey, all of Grovetown; Norma Khan, Gary Burdette, John Cahill, Jeffery Chase, Christopher Kowal, Elnora Rivers and Eward Townsend, all of Martinez.

Spelling bee winners

Katie will compete in the county spelling bee at Greenbriar Middle School on Feb. 28.
