Baseball, softball registration

The Columbia County Recreation Department will hold youth baseball and softball registration from Monday through March 2. Registration is at Patriots Park Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday registration is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tennis clinics

In conjunction with this weekend's free tennis lessons, Petersburg Racquet Club will offer a six-week follow-up program for interested adult players beginning Feb. 28. Juniors can take part in USA Tennis 1-2-3 programs beginning Feb. 23. The adult clinic is each Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and the juniors are Saturdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The cost for each clinic is $60 for the six-week session, plus a free racket.

Celebrity basketball

Lakeside High School will hold a basketball game Wednesday, pitting the Augusta Stallions of the arena2football league vs. the "A Team," which will consist of Lakeside coaches and local sports media personalities. Tipoff time is 7 p.m. Activities will include an autograph and picture session from 6:45 to 7:10 p.m.; performances by the Augusta Stallions cheerleaders; a halftime show and contests; and a reception after the game. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
