Subscribers meeting
The Appling Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual subscribers meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at station #1 in downtown Appling. The meeting will be open to residents of the Appling Volunteer Fire District. Election of the board of directors, approval of the 2002 budget and plans for the future will be discussed.
Living with Epilepsy
The Child Neurology Center will be holding a presentation "Living with Epilepsy" on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will take place at The Child Neurology Center on 460 North Belair Road in Evans. The presentation will be open to all high school, college, and pre-med students.

Open house registration
Martinez Baptist Hearts and Hands Christian Day School will hold an open house registration on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 3 to 6 p.m. Enrollment will be for K-2 through eighth grade for the 2002-2003 school year.

Gardening seminar
The Columbia County Cooperative Extension Service will sponsor a free seminar on organic gardening at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Martinez, on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. till noon.

School orientation

Legal help offered
Free legal help will be offered to senior citizens in Columbia County on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first session will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Grovetown Senior Center on West Robinson Street. The second will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Columbia County's Council on Aging on Euchee Creek Drive in Grovetown. For more information, call 721-2327.
North Harlem Elementary
North Harlem Elementary students will be participating in the Leukemia Society's "Pennies for Patients" campaign. All grades will participate by bringing in spare change to help in the fight against childhood cancer. The school will be participating in the event until Feb. 22.
