The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

Jewelry, computer stolen

A Grovetown woman told police Feb. 6 that someone broke into her house and took a diamond tennis bracelet and lap top computer.

Kirsten Nola Davis of the 100 block of Sugar Hill Court said the person entered her house by kicking in the front door, reports showed. Other items, which hadn't been identified at the time of her report, also were missing.

Davis estimated her loss at $7,500. The case was turned over to Columbia County sheriff's Investigator Ken Summers.

Home burglary

A Martinez woman reported seeing a burglar at her house on Feb. 7.

Edna Dobbs Awad of the 100 block of Fall Line Drive told police the incident occurred at about 7 p.m. when she heard something move in her basement, records stated.

She said she then left her house and saw an unknown man who was wearing tan pants run north from her house into some nearby woods. A deputy searched the area but found nothing.
