The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

Home burglaries reported

A rash of home burglaries was reported in Columbia County between Jan. 23 and 25.

According to reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, homes at the following locations were burglarized: 5800 block of Jaime Drive in Grovetown, 4500 block of Fiske Loop in Evans, 4000 block of Old Trail Road West in Martinez, 200 block of Flores Lane in Martinez, 800 block of Louisville Road in Harlem and 1400 block of Old Appling Harlem Highway in Appling.

A report of criminal trespass also was reported at Woodlawn CME Church at the 1400 block of Old Appling Harlem Highway in Harlem. Items taken in the burglaries included tools, guns, jewelry, DVD players and movies and a computer.

Identity fraud

A Martinez woman told police Jan. 23 that someone illegally activated a cell phone account using her name and social security number.

Amanda Carole Fort of the 100 block of Griswood Drive said the service was set up with Alltel, reports showed. She said the account was made using her maiden name.

Police are investigating the case.
