Children's storytime

A storytime for all ages is offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Euchee Creek Library.

Financial aid workshop

The Guidance Department at Harlem High School will offer a financial aid workshop for parents and students at 7 p.m. Thursday in the school's auditorium. A representative from the financial office of Augusta State University will be present.

School auction/supper

Greenbrier High School will be having a silent auction and band spaghetti supper Feb. 2. The silent auction will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with the supper being served from 4 to 8 p.m. A live auction also will be offered from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Items up for bid include an Andy Jones vehicle, a hot tub, golf cart, OMNI Health Club membership and more.

Retired educators meeting

The Columbia County Retired Educators will be meeting at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at Biggs Library. The meeting is open to all retired educators. Elizabeth Donsback, the director of education at the Augusta Museum, will be the guest speaker. Those attending are asked to bring their completed volunteer hours forms. Cinderella ball offered

The Augusta Players will be offering a Cinderella Glass Slipper Ball event to the public at 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at Sacred Heart. Confections will be provided by the executive chef of the Partridge Inn, and music and dancing will take place. For reservations, call 826-4707.

Financial planning meeting

The Christian Ladies Fellowship of First Baptist Church in Evans will meet to discuss the topic "Your Financial Future" from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 31. The meeting is open to men and women and will cost $10 per person, which includes a dinner. Reservations are required by Jan. 27. For more information, call 855-9252 or 863-1228.

Baptist conference

A conference featuring guest speaker Nancy Chapman Monroe will be offered from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at First Baptist Church of Thomson. The cost is $30, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and materials. Deadline for registration is Friday. For more information, call 706-595-4252.

Church speaker

Charles Dudish, a former Georgia Institute of Technology football quarterback and All-American player, will be speaking at 11 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Thomson. For more information, call 706-595-4252.

Terrorist attack seminar

Two seminars on "Community Planning for Terrorist Attacks" will be offered at 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 29 at University Hospital. There is no cost, but space is limited. To register, call 774-2888.

Fire department meeting

The Leah Volunteer Fire Department will have a special meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at station No. 2 on Burks Mountain Road. The public is invited to attend.
