The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Theater damaged

More than $1,000 in damage to the wall draperies of two theaters at Evans 12 Cinema was reported to police Jan. 4.

The damage was found in theaters six and eight, said Phillip Brian Cherry, the theater's manager. Reports showed that someone had cut the draperies with an unknown object. The case is considered criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Stolen mail reported

A Columbia County business reported Jan. 5 that someone has been taking its mail illegally.

The latest incident at Collier Management Co., located at the 4300 block of Frontage Road, was discovered by JoAnn B. Jones, the business' secretary, reports stated.

Jones said the company's mail was found in a ditch along Frontage and Wheeler roads in Richmond County. According to sheriff's office reports, similar incidents have been occurring for the past four weeks.

Business burglary

A Martinez business was burglarized sometime between Jan. 7 and 8.

Dorothy D. Edwards, program manager for Second Chance Women's Center on Columbia Road, said someone forced open a window to her building and took a 31-inch color television, department records showed.

The total loss was estimated at $350.
