The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

Go carts stolen

Two go carts were reported stolen Dec. 31 from Funsville in Martinez.

Rick G. Wentzky, manager of the Wheeler Road business, said the go carts were valued at $4,200 each and were taken from a track pit area, reports showed. He said whoever took them had to have hoisted the carts, which weigh 450 pounds, over a security fence.

Both go carts are Hondas - one is silver and the other is yellow.

School bus damaged

A Columbia County school bus had one of its window shattered Dec. 31 while it was parked at a Harlem residence.

The driver, Cheryl Lowe, said she noticed the damage at her house on the 1200 block of Grant Road at 9:30 a.m., department records showed. The rear door latch to the bus had been opened. Damage was estimated at $100, and the case is considered interference with government property.

Cash missing from register

More than $500 was reported missing from a cash register at a Martinez restaurant on New Year's Day.

Nick Jim Petkas, owner of Niko's Athens Restaurant on Bobby Jones Expressway, said $550 in cash had been taken from the store's front register, according to reports.
