Daniels selected
Evans High School senior Adrienne Daniels was selected to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-star fastpitch softball game, which will be held July 10 at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Daniels, a right-handed pitcher, posted a 15-3 record for the Lady Knights last season with an 0.84 ERA, 134 strikeouts and five walks. She recently signed a college scholarship with Liberty University, but before moving to the next level, Daniels will don the black and gold and represent Evans with the GACA's South All-star squad.
"It's really super, because the region coaches get to sell their players, and we were an outsider (in Region 4-AAAAA). I'm glad to see she made the team," Evans coach Colette Cassedy said.
The GACA All-star games feature several sports, and the July 8-10 contests are comprised only of recently graduated high school seniors.
Adrienne's sister, Jennifer, also participated in the GACA All-star fastpitch softball game. Jennifer was a pitcher and outfielder at Evans and graduated in 1998.
