Swimmers set records

Greater Augusta Swimming members Tom Northcutt and George Patton combined to set 11 state records in Georgia Masters Swimming during the 19th annual Electric City Invitational, which was held recently in Anderson S.C.

Northcutt, swimming in the 34-39 age group, won all eight events he entered, and broke records in the 50 and 100-meter backstroke events, and the 50, 100 and 200-meter breastroke races. He also placed first in the 50-meter butterfly, and the 100 and 200 meter individual medley events.

Patton, swimming in the 40-44 age group, won each of his nine events, setting state records in the 50, 100 and 200 meter breastroke, the 50-meter butterfly, and, the 100 and 200-meter individual medleys. He also won the 50 and 100-meter freestyles and the 50-meter backstroke.

Pete Meadows baseball

The Pete Meadows Baseball Program Christmas Camp will be held Dec. 26-29 at Westminster Schools in Augusta. Daily camp times are 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The camp is separated into age groups 6-to-8, 9-to-12 and 13-to-15. The cost is $85.
