School musical

The third-grade students of Brookwood Elementary School will be presenting the musical ''Brookwood Sings America" at 2:15 and 7 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 a.m. Nov. 9 at the school. The production will include patriotic music and will include audience participation in the singing of songs. The cost is free. For more information, call Johnny Carr at 855-7596, ext. 217.

Medical facility open house

University Health Care System will be having an open house for its new Evans Prompt Care and occupational medicine practice on North Belair Road from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1. The event will include health screenings and refreshments. For more information, call Kim Downes at 828-2344.

Democratic Party gathering

The Democratic Party of Columbia County will have a covered dish supper at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Fairington Clubhouse on Georgia Hereford Farm Road. Joe Martin, a candidate for state school superintendent, will be the speaker. Food and drinks will be provided. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call 650-0431.

Church auction

Martinez United Methodist Church will have a Taste of the Harvest and Tea Cup Auction from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the church. The cost will be $4 for adults, $2 for children age three to 10 and free to those younger than three. For more information, call 863-6541.

Shopping extravaganza

Stevens Creek Elementary School will have its first annual holiday shopping extravaganza from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 1 in the school's cafeteria. The event will include handmade jewelry, American Doll clothes, wallets and more.

School Carnival

Martinez Elementary School's Fall Carnival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the school on Flowing Wells Road. There will be games, prizes, entertainment, hair painting, food and drinks, a moon walk and much more. All proceeds from the carnival go to the PTO which uses the money to improve the school grounds, provide materials for teachers and students, and provide special programs. The carnival will moved inside in case of rain.

Church holiday bazaar

Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, located on Monte Sano Avenue, will have its annual Holiday Bazaar and Mission Market from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 3 and from noon-2 p.m. Nov. 4. There will be an attic sale, homemade baked gods, a silent auction and an expanded number of crafters. For more information, call Clyde Lester at 736-5162.

Church Bazaar

Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church, 110 E. Robinson Ave., Grovetown will hold a bazaar on November 3 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be crafts, baby items, toys, household items, tools, and a country store.

Children's story times

A story times event for all ages is offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Euchee Creek Library.
