Fourteen students on honor roll

Fourteen students are in the honor roll for the first six week at Evans High School.

High honor roll: Susan Beasley, Mary Ann Faglie, Harriet Faye Flynn, Brenda Jean Fuller, Willene Safley, Linda Scott, and Douglas Stringer.

Honor roll: Frandith Heath, John Rhodes, Carolyn Smith, Hilda McCarty, Merele Stringer, Mildred Teasley, and Polly Bagwell.

Southern Bell open house

People who dropped in at the local Southern Bell Telephone plan in Harlem on Thursday, Oct. 25, for their open house found the experience most interesting and rewarding, although those who are not mechanically gifted had to confess that much of it was mystic maze entirely uncomprehensible.

J. M. Williams, the new Suburban Manager, and Andre Hair, local manager, were most hospitable and kind in seeing that the tour of the plant included all the explanations needed and really conducted behind the scenes to see just how everyday calls are handled.

In the rear of the plant, the special feature of the open house took place when delicious fruit punch and cookies were served from a large punch bowl and crystal trays on a flower ornamented table.
