Church Bazaar
Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church, 110 E. Robinson Ave., Grovetown will hold a bazaar on November 3 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be crafts, baby items, toys, household items, tools, and a country store.
Halloween event offered
The Columbia County Recreation Department will offer a ''trick-or-treating" event Oct. 30.
A costume contest and a haunted trail attraction also will be offered. Businesses interested in purchasing a booth for $15 to pass out candy and publicize their business should call Stacie Adkins at 868-3458.
Medical facility open house
University Health Care System will be having an open house for its new Evans Prompt Care and occupational medicine practice on North Belair Road from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1. The event will include health screenings and refreshments. For more information, call Kim Downes at 828-2344.
Democratic Party gathering
The Democratic Party of Columbia County will have a covered dish supper at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Fairington Clubhouse on Georgia Hereford Farm Road. Recreation plan meetings
The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will be having four upcoming public meetings to ask for citizens' ideas for the development of a county recreation master plan for the next 10 years. The meetings will be from 7-9 p.m. The first two will take place at Savannah Rapids Pavilion and Bessie Thomas Community Center on Oct. 29. The final meetings will be at the Evans Government Complex and Eubank Blanchard Community Center on Oct. 30. For more information, call 868-3484.
Church auction
Martinez United Methodist Church will have a Taste of the Harvest and Tea Cup Auction from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the church. The cost will be $4 for adults, $2 for children age three to 10 and free to those younger than three. For more information, call 863-6541.

Shopping extravaganza
Stevens Creek Elementary School will have its first annual holiday shopping extravaganza from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 1 in the school's cafeteria. The event will include handmade jewelry, American Doll clothes, wallets and more.
