Students at Brookwood Elementary School held a penny drive and raised $1,111.30 for the American Red Cross for New York disaster relief. Friday, Oct. 5, the school presenting the check to Red Cross representative Becky McKenzie. The day was also a special day for the children to show their patriotism. It took two people to carry the rolls into Georgia Bank and Trust to be cashed.
