Crime report

The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

High School vandalism

Greenbrier High School was hit by two acts of vandalism. On Sept. 26, Campus Police Officer Willie Smalley reported that a door knob to a concession stand at the football field had been damaged. Estimated damage was at $150.

On Oct. 1, a student reported that the hood of his Mitsubishi 3000 GT was burned with an unknown object. The incident took place during a lunch break. Estimated damage was $250.

Phone lines cut

Two businesses within walking distance of each other reported phones lines being cut. One was broken into, according to incident reports.

Danny Oscar Hardy, of the 4000 block of Augusta Highway, reported that on Oct. 26, person(s) cut the phones outside of Zaxby's at 3909 Washington Road. Hardy is an employee of the restaurant.

A day earlier, Michael D. Polk, of Graniteville, SC, reported that he found the alarm system key pad torn off at Enterprise-Rent-Car at 213 Bobby Jones Expressway. Polk, an employee there, also said that phones lines had been cut and the power meter had been removed. According to the report, there was evidence that the building had been entered. Nothing was found missing at either business.
