The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

Armed robbery reported

Police say a Martinez man was robbed at gunpoint Sept. 27 when an alleged drug deal went bad.

According to department records, Jayson DeWayne Wheatley, 21, was attempting to purchase a pound of marijuana for $750 from a black man at the 3900 block of Desoto Drive in Martinez when the incident occurred.

When Wheatley allegedly went to pay for the drugs, the seller pulled out a gun and demanded that Wheatley give him all of his money - $2,000, reports showed. Wheatley complied and the seller, who was accompanied by another black man and white woman, immediately left in a black four door Toyota Camry with the other two suspects.

The Georgia tag number on the car was 903G.

Gary Orlin Engen, a senior JROTC instructor for the school, said someone broke into the east side of the building through a window and took a digital camera and money box, reports stated.
