Haunted theater
Harlem's old theater building on Main Street will be the site of a haunted theater at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and on Monday. Proceeds will go to the Harlem Foundation for theater renovation. Call 556-0043.
Education forum
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue and state school Superintendent Kathy Cox will take part by teleconference in A Community Conversation on Educational Excellence from 7-9 p.m. today at Greenbrier High School.
First responder course
Gold Cross EMS will hold a first responder course in November. Registration will be held at 7 p.m. today at the ambulance service headquarters, 347 N. Belair Road. Call 869-8940.
Saving the columns
Save the Columns will discuss the rescue of the Evans pillars and arch at a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Evans Middle School. Anyone interested in saving the structures is urged to attend.
Art in the Barn II
The Artists' Guild of Columbia County will present Art in the Barn II, an art, music, wine and food event, at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Riverwood Plantation Barn, 5123 Riverwood Parkway in Evans. Fort luncheon
The Gordon Club on 19th Street will be the site of a general membership luncheon for the local chapters of the Association of the United States Army, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and the Signal Corps Regimental Association at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The speaker will be Brig. Gen. Randolph Strong, commanding general, Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon.

Holiday bazaar
Windmill Plantation will hold a holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Windmill Plantation Clubhouse on Windmill Lane off William Few Parkway. Children can have their picture taken with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon. For information, call 210-4235.
