Construction of Washington Road improvements taking far too long

It seems that with all of the talk about the new sports arena complex and Columbia County consolidation, the traffic flow and repair of Washington Road is not even on the radar screen.

Why is it that a vacant lot gets placed ahead of a legitimate open business? ... We have been open here at Cliett Automotive Repair Service for more than two months and still do not have a driveway that was promised us more than 10 months ago. Why do my customers and my employees have to take the life-endangering task of dodging the construction barrel just to get in?

When the Good Lord told Noah to build the ark, he made it rain for 40 days and 40 nights. The road contractor (according to my figures) has been on the Washington Road project for more than 200 working days, excluding rain days.

Now, I know we have had a lot of rain this year with all of the hurricanes; however, don't tell me that is has rained 167 of the more than 200 working days on the Washington Road project.
