GAS swimmers score at state

Competing for Greater Augusta Swimming, Columbia County residents J.R. Barrett and Katie Croft placed at the Georgia Swimming State Championships held last weekend in Savannah.

Barrett, swimming in the 13-14 boys division, placed 12th in the 50-yard freestyle (:24.17); 11th in the 100 freestyle (:52.33); 15th in the 200 freestyle (1:53.12); 12th in the 100 backstroke (:59.53); 11th in the 200 backstroke (2:05.88); and, 14th in the 400 individual medley (4:40.03).

Croft, swimming in the 11'12 girls division, placed 15th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:28.53).

Rowing camps

The Augusta Rowing Club will host the Masters Rowing Camp at Langley Pond on March 12-17 and March 26-31. These unique camps are designed to elevate the level of Masters' rowing through a series of technique-intensive clinics and instruction.
