The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.

Refrigerator burglarized

An Appling woman told police Feb. 26 that someone broke into her house and took several items of food from her refrigerator.

Inez Parks Benning, of the 7100 block of Old Winfield Road, said the perpetrator entered her home through a front window and took a bag of chicken fillets, $12 in shrimp and $6 in smoked sausages, according to department reports.

She said the burglary occurred sometime between 6:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., records stated.

County office tables stolen

Five folding tables and a surge protector were reported stolen from the Columbia County Emergency Management Agency office in Evans on Feb. 26.

The theft reportedly occurred between Feb. 11 and 26, a report filed with the sheriff's office showed. Stephen Sullivan, a computer programmer for the county, told police the tables had been taken from a locked closet at the 500 block of Faircloth Drive office.

He said the surge protector was stolen from a facility inventory room. The loss was valued at $275.

Pool liner damaged

A Martinez woman's pool was damaged between Jan. 25 and Feb. 21.

Dianne Godsey, of the 4400 block of Whisperwood Drive, said someone apparently threw an unknown object into her pool, causing 20 to 30 small holes in its liner, records showed. The damage was estimated at $1,200. The case is considered criminal damage in the second degree.
