Spanish content appreciated, but needs work

Editor:

I would like to congratulate The Columbia County News-Times for offering its Columbia Digest in Spanish.

According to the 2002 Census, Columbia Countys Hispanic population increas-ed 140.4 percent, and Georgias Hispanic population increased 300 percent since 1990. These people deserve to read the news in their native language in correct Spanish.

I was very disappointed when I read the article Hombre local rescatado in The News-Times on Feb. 17, because I found grammar and spelling mistakes. I hope that you continue providing news in Spanish, but in a more accurate manner.
